September was a long month, but I enjoyed every day of it. The cool mornings and cooler nights arrived, the first few leaves started to change, and I was one busy photographer! 6 birthdays were ushered in with photos, there were elopements, engagements, and couple shoots, and a few families squeezed out the last few drops of Summer with their photos.
Overall, I love the variety September kept me busy with. As a photographer, I find it very important to flex different creative muscles as often as possible so that I'm always improving, serving my clients the best I can, and so I'm always ready for the next thing.
September also brought with it two photo sessions I have begun to look forward to every year. As some of my very first clients, I have been fortunate enough to document every stop in the journey of these sweet girls' lives. From when their arrivals were eagerly anticipated, to when they were brand, new sleepy little things to now when they are big kids with big personalities.
With their photo shoots this year it was so great to see them play, and laugh and also to see them assert some control over their photos. "Watch my dress spin," or "Take a picture of me running!!" were two common requests.

I'll have one week of vacation up in Vermont to peep the leaves changing and then I'm hitting the ground running.
