“August rain: the best of the summer gone, and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time.”
― Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

August. It is a unique month. It’s a time when it still feels like Summer is in full force with its hot, long days and beach trips, but by the end of the month cool mornings creep in and the leisure of Summer has to come to a close. There is a seriousness that arrives — no more vacations, it's back to work and back to school for many of us. I think thats what makes August so unique, the line of demarcation is bold and the end of Summer is bittersweet as life shuffles on into a new season. August has been known to be a month for knowledge and reflection.

August is my favorite Summer month. It has always been an active month for me and this year was no different. I had a month full of wonderful sessions, sessions filled with golden light and lots of laughs. I was thankful for each and every one of them. I finished up the “Summer Mini Series,” a series that has been child-centered and focused on not only capturing the true personalities of children but also focused on achieving a timeless aesthetic so that the photos can hang on the walls for years to come and never look out of place. I enjoyed this project so much, that I think it is going to become an annual thing.

I also celebrated my birthday and went on a little adventure to Lake Winnipesauke in New Hampshire. It was so much fun and I had never been there before. I already have another trip planned for this fall to see the leaves change. I’m really excited for September and the coming change of seasons. September is another packed month of sessions and its going to be great!
