One year ago...

We were all sitting at home unsure but hopeful that this "covid thing" would pass. Who would have thought that in a year we would still be coping with an ongoing pandemic? Sure maybe we all had an inkling that normal wouldn't return for a while but the prevailing feeling was part hope, part denial that staying home away from others and wearing a mask would be short lived. I honestly look back and cringe a little at early 2020 me! But here we are again with Spring on our doorstep and it's difficult not feel hopeful, optimistic, and better equipped to deal with tomorrow than ever before. I guess warmer temperatures and newly budding trees will do that to you...

March was wonderful! After the seasonal slump it felt so good to once again be overwhelmed with a backlog of photos to edit. There’s the pressure to turn around photos in a timely manner and its a little daunting when bookings go from weekends only to spilling over into the week, but its that good kind of pressure and reward you get from working hard.

There were lots of great faces and cute expressions captured this month with the official kick off of Legacy Portraits. It is a challenge to work with kids so young and to capture the many faces of a toddler but I love it. I love coming up with silly prompts and encouraging funny faces to get the kids to be themselves in front of the camera. I even learned a few new tricks to make each session go a little smoother. Toddler doesn’t want to sit or stand on their own? No problem! Pop ‘em up onto your knee!

April has a lot of newborns coming my way and I am here for it! I’m also loving the change in weather and I am excited for all of the spring blooms I’m seeing around town. Seriously the perfect backdrop for any outdoor photo session!
