June was an incredible month and I can't believe we are well into the summer!

I took a break from social media early this month. With all of the news, protests, and tragedy I felt that it was vital I take time to reflect, listen, and to give space and attention in "the feed" to more important issues. Rather than fill my social media with optical allyship posts I wanted to do something more that is why I decided to donate 10% of June and July's proceeds to local non profits that will help strengthen and build up our community. In fact, I've decided to continue to pledge 10% of every month's proceeds to community organizations. June's organization is the Urban League of Richmond and July's will be Girls For a Change. If you have any suggestions for subsequent organizations to donate to after that, shoot me a message! I'm all ears.

June started off with a milestone session from a family I've absolutely loved getting to know over the past few months. Last November, I did their maternity/birth announcement photos and here we are! A 6 month milestone session!! He's a strong boy, eager to stand and walk, with the absolute most facial expressions! Hard to believe the next session won't be until later this fall. He will be so big by then!

June also allowed me to visit with some of my "vintage" families. (You know, those long time clients you know and love and who saw potential in you like 5 years ago when you were just starting out) Normally, I get to reacquaint myself with everyone in May when Picture Day rolls around at the childcare center but good ol' Covid had other ideas this year. So getting to see some of these folk in June was extra sweet! These sessions are so dear to my heart, I'm truly thankful for the time I get to spend with them hanging out and photographing their family.

June was eventful to say the least and I'm looking forward to what the rest of the Summer will bring in terms of new clients, new babies, and new change.
