Over the past five years I have done a lot of family portraits and worked with a lot of kids. I honestly never tire of getting kids to smile and hearing what they think is a great joke. However, one thing I have learned not only through my experiences with M.photo but also through past experiences as a nanny and as a childcare provider is that getting kids fed, dressed, and out the door on time is a herculean feat. Add to that moods, nap schedules, and general childhood capriciousness and getting cooperation can be a little bit of a miracle of its own. That is why I always meet my clients wherever they are. I don’t ask for much and we just capture whatever we can during their session because while the end product is a treasure I understand the effort to get there can be exhausting. I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the past few months as more families continue to stay home. I wanted to be able to offer my clients something focused, simple, and virtually effortless on their part so I came up with the Legacy Portrait.
The Legacy Portrait is a focused portrait serving the same purpose as a school photo but in a style that is unchanging and timeless. School photos are such an iconic piece of growing up for most of us and yet the end product is always a gamble. I know there are school pictures of me in the archives where I either completely forgot it was picture day or where my hair was definitely a little wild. The Legacy Portrait takes away all of those variables. Its done at the home where we can take as much time as needed to brush back any flyaways, tell a few jokes to get those genuine smiles, and just focus on getting a really great photo.
Offered in both black and white and color, the Legacy Portrait consists of a simple backdrop so the focus remains on the subject. Children can sit or stand, dance, or wiggle around for a bit -- no long attention spans required! So its perfect for any age. The Legacy Portrait is designed to be timeless. I am so excited to be able to offer this simple portrait to my clients this year! In addition, the Legacy Portrait is geared toward a print based finish meaning with each session digital files will be limited and a credit is included within the session fee to be used toward your print order. I am offering a selection of print products from canvas to mounted and even framed products. Each order is prepared for by me and sent off and fulfilled by a high end lab that I love and trust and have been working with for years.
